Personalised Support Services mission is to help people with disabilities through assistive technologies, group activities, core support, short-term accommodation, household tasks, support coordination, and community participation. Through these services, people can overcome the challenges posed by their disabilities and live life with more independence.
Assistive Technologies
Assistive technologies are instruments and equipment that allow you to complete tasks that are prevented by disability issues.
AT (Assistive Technologies) is divided into three categories – low-risk, medium-risk, and high-risk products. These categories reflect a person’s disability and needs.

Household Tasks
The NDIS offers support services for household tasks including cleaning, dishwashing, clothes washing, fresh linen, and ironing. These services aim to help participants live in a safe, protected, and healthy environment. Necessary cleaning is delivered across all areas regularly utilised by PSS participants within their own homes.
Additional services you can be funded for at Personalised Support Services are help around bathrooms, kitchens, toilets, laundries, living areas, and bedrooms. NDIS daily supporters in Dandenong undertake activities such as cleaning stoves tops, wiping down benchtops and inside fridges, changing bed linen, vacuuming or mopping floors, dishwashing, dusting, washing, drying, and ironing.
Support Coordination
Support coordination allows PSS participants to manage their NDIS plan and derive benefit from included supports. Support coordination is a capacity building activity that helps you comprehend and utilise your NDIS plan to achieve your goals. It links you with NDIS providers and the community. It also builds your confidence and skills to coordinate your support.
There are three levels of support coordination:
- Support Connection: This support focuses on building your capability to maximise your NDIS plan by teaching you to connect with informal, community, and funded supports.
- Support Coordination: This support will help you create the skills you require to comprehend and utilise your NDIS plan. A support coordinator will work with you to provide a mix of support to expand your ability to sustain relationships, manage service delivery tasks and live more independently.
- Specialist Support Coordination: This is a more intense level of support coordination. It is for people whose disability conditions are more complicated and require specialist support. A specialist Support Coordinator will help you handle challenges in your support environment and ensure continuous service delivery.
Community Participation
Community participation facilitates independence and social participation. These are activities that can assist with your health and wellbeing. They can also allow you to communicate with new people and enhance your skills.
Social and recreation activities include:
- learning new skills eg. dance, art classes, or quilting.
- playing sports eg. tennis, surfing, or basketball
- going out eg. going to the movies or a concert
- visiting your friends and family
- active hobbies eg. bike riding, skiing, or kayaking
- going places for fun eg. shopping or visiting a museum
- relaxing eg. meditation or yoga
